Editor’s Note: Coach Pat Dye was 26-2 overall with his opening week predictions, including an 11-1 mark in the SEC. The Hall of Fame coach’s only SEC miss was Jacksonville State’s upset of Mississippi. Out of the league Coach Dye predicted Utah’s upset of Pitt with his only miss coming from Boise State’s comeback victory over Virginia Tech.
Georgia at South Carolina--This should be a great game and this one is always close. I like Georgia.
South Florida at Florida--Playing in Gainesville I have got to pick Florida, but the Gators must play better than they did against Miami of Ohio to win this game.
Penn State at Alabama--I am picking Alabama because Tuscaloosa is a tough place for a freshman quarterback to play and Penn State starts a freshman quarterback.
Louisiana-Monroe vs. Arkansas at War Memorial Stadium, Little Rock, Ark.--Arkansas is going to win this one.
LSU at Vanderbilt--This game is going to be closer than most people think it will be, but I will still pick LSU because they have more players than Vanderbilt.
Oregon at Tennessee--Oregon is going to win this game and will learn a lot more about Tennessee this week.
Western Kentucky at Kentucky--Kentucky.
Ole Miss at Tulane--I have got to pick Ole Miss, but after last week you don’t know what is going on in Oxford.
Auburn at Mississippi State--I am going to pick Auburn. I can’t pick against the Tigers although I believe the game will be close because Starkville is the toughest place in the conference to go to play.
Other Games
Michigan at Notre Dame--With the game being at Notre Dame this is a tough one to pick. I am going to go with Notre Dame.
West Virginia at Marshall--West Virginia.
Georgia Tech at Kansas--Georgia Tech will win.
Florida State at Oklahoma--I like Florida State in this one.
Iowa State at Iowa--Iowa should win a close game.
UNLV at Utah--I like Utah again this week.
Wyoming at Texas--Texas, of course.
Troy at Oklahoma State--Oklahoma State.
Stanford at UCLA--Stanford.
Virginia at Southern California--Southern Cal.
Miami of Florida at Ohio State--This should be a great football game to watch on Saturday. I like Ohio State to win.
